Vice President for Education
Responsibilities
- Promote and
support the American Needlepoint Guild, Inc.'s Bylaws, Standing
Rules, Policies and Procedures, and Criteria and Guidelines.
- Maintain a current
notebook pertaining to the area of responsibility
- Attend all regular
and called meetings of the Board of Directors of ANG
- Review policies
relating to area of responsibility one month prior to board
meetings, and present recommendations for review or change to the
President
- Perform duties of
President in the President's absence when there is no President
Elect
- Serve as a member
of the following committees:
- Judging
Certification Program Committee
- Master Teacher
Committee
- Seminar Faculty
Committee Selection Committee
- Master Needle
Artist
- Needlearts
Appraisal Program
- Work with the
Director of Seminars, Chairman of SFC, Chairman of JCP, and the
selected faculty judge to be sure that the judging class time and
length are determined to everyone's satisfaction in February
before the contracts are sent out.
- Exhibit Committee
- Serve as a liaison
between the Board of Directors and
- Master Needle
Artist
- Needlearts
Appraisal Program
- Judging
Certification Program Committee
- Master Teacher
Program Committee
- Exhibit Committee
- Other assigned
committees and appointees
- Order jewelry
through the Jewelry Sales Chairman for programs under her/his
purview
- Order Founder's Award, the Princess Grace Award and any others awards as required
- Seminar:
- Arrange with
committee chairmen within area of responsibility for meetings
during seminar and attend these meetings.
- Oversee the
Exhibit
- Provide list of
winners to Needle Pointers and the local seminar newsletter editor
- May not take
classes
- Financial:
- Approve and
forward to Treasurer for payment the Check Requests per Policy
10.4.02
- Submit personal
expense forms to President for approval
- Coordinate and
prepare annual budgetary recommendations for area of responsibility
and assigned committees and appointees
- Review periodic
financial reports
- Prepare and submit
the following:
- Report to the
Board of Directors prior to each Board meeting
- Annual Report by
May 1
Qualifications:
- Ability to use or
learn to use computer, fax and copier
- Computer skills:
E-mail and word-processing required; database and spreadsheet
knowledge desired
- E-mail access,
Internet access, and daily use of E-mail
- Professional or
volunteer experience and skills in administration and supervision
- Envision new
programs and work to develop new educational opportunities
- Understands
fiduciary responsibilities involved relating to protecting the
assets of the members
- Attendance at ANG
Seminars
- Officer service at
the Chapter, Area or Committee level
- Organization,
interpersonal and time management skills
- Effective written
and oral communication skills
- Balanced approach
supporting past traditions with a willingness to accept changes to
improve the organization for the future
- Financial skills
- Processing large
number of expense reports for various committees
- Administering the
costs of programs
- Encouraged to be certified in one of the ANG certification programs
- Working knowledge
of the ANG educational programs
- Time
Commitment: 20-30 hours per week most weeks
